What an incredible afternoon we had this past Wednesday, December 17th! Our club was honored to host Laura Adjuto, who shared her powerful journey from a Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE) student to a dedicated medical student making a difference in the world.
Laura’s story is a testament to the long-term impact of Rotary. She spoke passionately about: ✅ Her life-changing experiences as a former RYE student and how exchange shaped her global perspective. ✅ Her rigorous pursuit of a medical degree and how her Rotary roots continue to fuel her ambition. ✅ The vital work being done through her Rotary Club’s medical assistance program, bringing essential care to those who need it most.
What is Rotary Youth Exchange (RYE)? As Laura’s journey demonstrates, RYE is about more than just travel. It is one of the world’s oldest and largest international study exchange programs, building peace one young person at a time. Operating through over 5,000 Rotary clubs in 100+ countries, the program sponsors thousands of high school students annually. Since becoming an official Rotary International program in 1972, RYE has empowered over 9,000 students each year to become global leaders by immersing them in new cultures and the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
