Huge thanks to our very own, David Hickman, for an incredibly insightful series of talks on navigating the tricky world of credit card and online scams!
🛡️💻 In 2025, scammers are more sophisticated than ever, using AI-powered phishing emails, convincing fake websites, and even impersonating loved ones or trusted organizations. David highlighted the importance of:
Being skeptical: If an offer seems too good to be true, or a message creates unusual urgency, take a moment to verify.
Protecting your info: Never share passwords, PINs, or one-time codes via unsolicited calls, texts, or emails. Banks and legitimate companies won’t ask for these directly.
Spotting fakes: Look closely at email addresses and website URLs for slight misspellings or unusual domains.
Using strong, unique passwords and enabling two-factor authentication wherever possible.
