Kings Bay Rotarian Will Lucas introduced the members of his team that worked to put together the Carver Center History Project. The exhibit showed beautifully crafted banners with text and photographs of what started as a very modest three-room school house on the current site of the Carver building. His team incorporated members of the City’s History Museum who led the research into the history and designed the banners. Members of the Carver Center Board of Directors proudly supported the work. Will spearheaded the successful fundraising, while a member of the community used the 3-D modeling to create a scaled replica of the school house, including the outhouse, classroom benches and coal stoves! The exhibit is hoped to become a segway into efforts to further strengthen community-based projects. Will reminds us of an “Open House” for the exhibit on September 8th where the wider community will be introduced to the History Project.
